General Information

History of G.C.B.T.S.


Great Commission Bible College & Seminary

was established around 1950's by Dr. Blair W. Whittington Worldwide Baptist Missions, headquartered in Bowling Green, Kentucky, was also founded by Dr. Blair Whittington as a mulitiple outreach, missionary centered, tent-making Baptist Mission Board on September 1, 1980 to further the institution's mission world-wide.


Dr. Whittington was the school's first President and went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 1987. Dr Greg Page became Institution's second President. The Worldwide Baptist Missions advanced tremendously under President's Greg Page Leadership.


The Institution's Seminary and Mission Board trained over 350 missionaries in such countries as the United States of America, Canada, England Scotland, Wales, Ireland,New Zealand, Australia, Nigeria, Rhodesia, Italy, Philippines,

and Japan during the 80's and 90's.

Dr. Roderick Williams served as Vice President of Great Commission Bible College and Seminary from 2005-2010. Great Commission became Jehovah Jireh Bible Institute Higher Learning AL/GA. In 2010, Dr. Williams became President of School during this transitional era. 


The Jehovah-Jireh Bible Institute was originally founded in 2006 as an educational outreach ministry affiliated with Great Commission Bible College & Seminary Correspondence distance learning program Glasgow, Kentucky.  The Bible Institute was established to offer onsite and on-line courses and training for students to receive a certificate in biblical studies to prepare them for bible college or seminary work.  


After about 60 years of operation from (1950 – 2010) Great Commission discontinued its distance learning bible based degree program in 2010, JJBI has continued to offer ecclesiastical educational training and teaching for men and women in all walks of life.  


JJBIHL is striving to continue its sound Biblical Certificate program of study and to offer Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees in Religion to prepare men and women with the best ecclesiastical biblical preparation for ministry. 

Presently, Jehovah-Jireh Bible Institute HL main campus is located at Jehovah-Jireh Ministries 1410 Hillabee Street,P.O. Box 1334, Alexander City, Alabama 35010. JJBIHL have learning centers located in the state of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Texas. JJBIHL presently offers certificate through PhD programs of study, 100% online as a degree granting institution in the state of Louisiana and Texas.   


The Future

JJBIHL offers onsite and online certificate through PhD Programs of Study. JJBIHL

continues to be committed to our purpose and that is training men and women at the highest scholarly level in this ecclesiastical educational training ministry of New Millennium, Inc. a tax-exempt 501(c) (3) corporation located in Alexander City, Alabama.
